Later, Saga Dawa was celebrated in Danakosha Ling where Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche generously gave the empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni and 16 arhats. Rinpoche also lucidly explained Heart sutra to a lucky and attentive audience.

In July Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche continued his deep and vast teaching on the international five-year course on Longchen Rabjam's extraordinary work Semnyid ngalso, Relaxing in the nature of mind, covering the entire Buddhist path from sutra through tantra to the pinnacle, Dzogchen. The fourth year of the course covered the path and view of Vajrayana, and was attended by many commited students from all over the world.

International Seminar on Secular Ethics and Four Noble Truths

Danakosha ling is delighted to share excellent news from a very first weekend International seminar on secular ethics and four noble truths, on the auspicious occasion of the day of the First turning of the Wheel of Dharma. The first day of this two-day seminar was dedicated to secular ethics and the second day to the four noble truths.

Our deep gratitude goes to an unprecedented number of special international guests and authorities gathered here, amidst three major cities in souther Finland, in the charming municipality of Jokioinen, hosted by Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche, the founder and spiritual director of Danakosha Ling.

The first day begun with the speakers and the venerables performing together a butter lamp offering. Following that the participants had the joy to listen to views on secular ethics from many perspectives. The second day started with the venerables unveiling the Wheel of Dharma made of a window of C.G. Mannerheim, a former president of Finland, who visited Tibet during his travels.

We had the great honor of listening to our two principal speakers, Her Excellency Pema Choden, Ambassador of Bhutan and Matti Repo, Bishop of Tampere, both quintessentially adressing the topic of secular ethics.

Further, delivering talks of vast insight, representatives of six buddhist countries - Tibet, Bhutan, Vietnam, Thailand, Burma and Korea, two scholar speakers, a representative of the Finnish Buddhist Union and the vicar of local church came and shared their knowledge with hundred or so curious visitors from altogether ten countries.

Namely, Danakosha ling had the pleasure of welcoming Venerable Phra Mahanuan Chamnanram, the abbot of the temple of Finnish Thai Buddhist Association, Venerable Thich Hanh Bao, the abbot of the Vietnamese Buddhist Lien Tam Pagoda in Finland, Venerable Pannasami, the president of Burmese Buddhist Buddha Dhamma Ramsi center in Finland, Venerable Taehye Sunim, the chairman of Korean Buddhist Bodhidharma ry, Venerable Lama Konchog Chogyal, the spiritual teacher of the Tibetan Buddhist Palpung Yeshe Gatshal Center in Finland, Venerable Lama Ogyen Chodor, the leader of Tibetan Buddhist Ngedon Phuntsholling Monastery in Nepal and Brussels, Esko Kilpi, the founder and principal of Esko Kilpi Company, Cecilia Winquist-Innanen, a teacher on "Unity in Duality Science of Mind and Phenomena" educational program, Irma Rinne, the president of the Finnish Buddhist Union and Jyrki Koivisto, the vicar of Jokioinen church.

All and all the seminar-weekend was a great joy and success and surely planted many virtuous seeds for the future to unveil. We would like to thank once again all participants of this wonderfull event, expressing the hope that it was only a first step on a longer journey.

Tashi Delek!
