International Konchog Chidu Drubchod retreat

Dec 26th 2022 - Jan 1st 2023 Danakosha Ling, Jokioinen, Finland

Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche will lead the yearly international Konchog Chidu Drubchod retreat in the end of December at Danakosha Ling, Jokioinen, Finland. Registrations by December 12th!

Danakosha Ling has the great joy to announce that Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche will lead a Konchog Chidu drubchod retreat in Finland from December 26th 2022 to January 1st 2023.

Drubchod is an especially powerful group retreat. Its purpose is to pacify all obstacles, obscurations and sicknesses, increase virtues, accumulate merit, and increase prosperity for all sentient beings, and particularly our own surroundings.

This is Danakosha’s annual winter retreat. It’s a very important event and we wish that there will be many participants, and that particularly all members of Danakosha’s sangha participate. Last years it has been difficult or impossible to organize a large, international gathering. This year it seems possible to have the event in its whole extent. To celebrate this we will this year focus on accumulating merit by making 100,000 tsog offerings.

The retreat will begin on the evening of December 26th and will conclude on the morning of January 1st. It is important to do positive actions when the year changes. If you have had a great year, it’s a result of your own virtuous actions and a blessing of the three jewels and three roots, so we thank them for their kindness, and wish that the next year will be equally auspicious. If the year has been difficult, we wish the difficulties end, and new good things happen in the next year.

The Konchog Chidu drubchod practice

Konchog Chidu, meaning the “Embodiment of the Precious Ones” is a very profound and wide cycle of teachings. In brief, it is a Guru Rinpoche practice which encompasses all the Three Roots – outer peaceful Padmasambhava as the Guru, inner wrathful Padmasambhava as the Yidam, and secret Padmasambhava in the form of Simhamukha as the Dakini, as well as a long life form of Padmasambhava. The terma was discovered by the terton Jatson Nyingpo, a reincarnation of Nyongben Tingzin Zangpo, a close student of Padmasambhava, who attained the rainbow body.

Padmasambhava says: If someone even just opens a book of this text, the surroundings become rich and peaceful, and all wars become reduced. If you have devotion and wish to practice this text, it has the power of giving you the attainment of a pure land, even to an animal. These blessings of this profound teaching have not diminished, and therefore receiving this teaching is more precious than finding a wish fulfilling jewel. Even if you have doubt about this dharma, or you think that it’s impossible to receive these blessings, your bad karma will be purified and you will enter the path of liberation.

The accumulation of merit is one of the most important parts of the path of enlightenment. There are many ways to accumulate merit. One of the highest ways is accumulation through the drubchod – “great accomplishment offering”. That means opening the mandalas of the yidam deities and pure gathering of samaya of all the Vajra brothers and sisters, practice of the generation and accomplishment stage with supreme motivation. On such a special occasion, the accumulation of merit multiplies immeasurably.
