Ka Gye - The Eight Proclamation Deities

The detailed Jang Ter, The Northern Treasure is like a branch among the well known Five Great Termas, the four directional and the fifth central, coming from the long tradition of profound termas of the early translation period of secret mantra. In the dharma section of the Ka Gye, The Eight Proclamation Deities, the one called Drag po Rang Jung Rang Shar, The Wrathful, Spontaneous Self-Arisen One is praised as being like Pure Vital Energy.

In India four streams of the Abhisheka spread. "The Abhisheka of the Book Volume of Command" descended upon king Dzaa, "The Abhisheka of the Yidam Deity" descended upon the Nirmanakaya Garab Dorje, "The Abhisheka of the Scholar" with the blessing of the daughter Gomadevi and "The Abhisheka of Dynamic Awareness" was discovered by Padmasambhava himself. After having obtained the earlier abishekas as well, in short, the complete stream of The Four Abhishekas descended upon Padmasambhava himself.

The complete and entire Abhisheka of the Ka Gye was given by Padmasambhava himself, which surprised the Indian scholars. Having gone to Tibet, at the time of bestowing the Abhisheka of the De Shek Dü pa, The Consortium of Sugatas, to the 25 disciples, ruler and subjects, and the Sang wa Jong Dzok, The Complete Perfection of the Secrets and in particular the Drag po Rang Shar, The Wrathful Self-Arisen One to the nine heart sons, at the red rock at Noble Samye, each disciple was being touched by a flower, and they all acquired the signs of accomplishment of the special deity.

In the Tantra it says:

It is sufficient just to know the gathering of the Eight Wrathful and Peaceful Proclamation Deities. When one is mindful of it, one progresses along the path. It is supreme among primordial awareness. It is the excellent view among views. All who attend to and accomplish, offer to and praise it will manifest enlightenment in Dharmadhatu.

It is greatly praised by vajra words such as this.
