Semnyid Ngalso Meditation Course

Meditation instructions and explanations from the Excellent Path to Enlightenment, written by Omniscient Longchen Rabjam.

The first year, 9 – 18 July 2026 Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche will kindly teach how to meditate following the first 55 verses of the book. This program is suitable for serious students that perhaps missed the 5-year course previously given at Danakosha Ling and wish to get practice instructions and follow this gradual (lamrim) type of practice manual.

The course will go through all 141 verses over the course of the three years. Participating online is possible in the first and second year, while participation on-site is required for the last year.

Meditation manual: The Excellent Path to Awakening
The text has 141 separate practices and is a complete practice manual containing the entire Buddhist teachings. Organized in accordance with Dzogchen, the pinnacle view of Tibetan Buddhism, the text begins with preliminary practices from the Sutrayana and the other tantras as preparation for the practice of Dzogchen.

The root text: Semnyid Ngalso Dzogpa Chenpo
This was written about the root text of the Semnyid Ngalso Dzogpa Chenpo.

“Having condensed all of the topics of the Tripitika and the four divisions of tantra into one, the complete teaching of the Bhagavan Buddha is combined into a single graduated path.

Chapter one through chapter ten extensively explain the nature of the basis, starting from the difficulty of acquiring freedom and endowments.

The next two chapters, chapters eleven and twelve, the so-called “chapters of the great naturally perfected meditation,” extensively analyze the stages of the path by principally explaining the yogas of śamatha and vipaśyāna.

Chapter thirteen extensively presents the result, clearly demonstrating the Natural Great Perfection, the ultimate result.”

As a token of his unceasing kindness, he will again elucidate the meaning explanation of Longchenpa´s Semnyid Ngalso Dzogpa Chenpo for fortunate students. This is your chance to follow in the footsteps of masters of both the present and the past!
Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche is a renowned teacher in the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism (also called the Early Translation Tradition). He has graduated from the Mindrolling Monastery’s University of Tibetan Buddhism as a certified lineage holder of both sutra and tantra
